Statistics: Russia’s CPI at 0.1% in Aug 18–Mon, 9.5% from Jan 1
MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation index (CPI) amounted to 0.1% in the week between August 18 and Monday, and increased to 9.5% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report Wednesday.
Sugar prices rose 1.1% and prices for eggs, sunflower oil, caramel candies and cereals increased 0.3–0.8%. Frozen fish became 0.4% cheaper.
Prices for fruit and vegetables fell 2.8% on average. Prices for carrots decreased 10.1%, potatoes prices went down 7.9%, onion became 7.7% cheaper, cabbage prices fell 4.4% and tomato prices went down 4.3%.
Gasoline prices rose 0.2% and diesel fuel prices remained flat.
